L. Renee
Blount
Team North Pole
L. Renee Blount is a pro-adventure photographer, director, and mountain athlete who’s been instrumental in making the outdoors way more inclusive. She’s been featured on Outside Mag (as the cover story), Athleta, Patagonia, The North Face, Nat Geo, and beyond. She’s a Harvard-trained designer who got into the outdoor world through climbing. After not seeing herself, she taught herself to use a camera. By 2018, she had her first campaigns with Arc’Teryx, Athleta, and more. She’s the only black woman contributor to the Nat Geo Adventure Team. And currently an ambassador for Bear Grylls and more.
L’s work is deeply about intention and illuminating underrepresented individuals in incredible ways.
With 10 years of climbing, she’s been moving into the worlds of mountaineering and high alpine. Women (especially women of color) are highly underrepresented in expedition teams and she’s on a mission to be included.
