Since childhood, Marcus has found joy in exploration and challenge. Born and raised in an outdoor family in North Carolina, he was inspired to pursue competency in every adventure discipline, from alpine climbing to polar expeditions. 

 

Marcus can now be found outdoors pushing his personal boundaries of exploration, from mountaineering in the Cascades of Washington and Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park to climbing and mountain biking in West Virginia’s New River Gorge. He enjoys testing his potential and adapting to solve difficult problems. Marcus is passionate about introducing African Americans to the outdoors, founding the Outdoor Inclusion Coalition to kindle a love for and support outdoor exploration, and elevating minority adventure on the Sincerely Yours, Outdoors podcast.
